Munday's in Huntington village is without question our favorite place to go for brunch and we do so every weekend.
There have been a lot of requests - I'm sure you have noticed... for members to write posts about local stuff... so this weekend while we sat enjoying our Saturday Brunch I thought why not write a post about Munday's. I mean we love Munday's so why not share some good stuff with our friends.
We have been going to Munday's since we moved to Huntington 22 years ago. If you are familiar with the village of Huntington you will know that one of its attractions are the many restaurants. In fact the village of Huntington is often referred to as little Manhattan.
In the 22 plus years that we have been going to Mundays I never asked anyone when it opened. This week I did... Munday's opened in 1923... now that speaks volumes! Opened in 1923 has had 9 owners and it is always full (no pun intended) of happy satisfied folks, which also speaks volumes. Especially when you factor in all their competition. One of my sons asked me to ask them how they survived the depression... I'll do that next week...
The staff is professional and all are experts at making you feel like you can't wait for your next visit.
If you have never been to Munday's I promise you that you will be glad that you took my advise and put them on your list of things to do.
The other fun thing about this 1923 Luncheonette is that they always decorate for the holidays. You will note that they are now all decked out for the fourth of July. One of the signs up right now says, "America Home of the Free Because of the Brave".... how great is that and the staff does all the decorating on their own time...
