Largest Buddha Statue in America United States California Robert Swetz

 

 Robert Swetz is in the process of purchasing approx 200-1000 acres of vacant land in California between San Francisco and Santa Barbara. Robert Swetz has found some acreage in 2 different areas and will know more about the details in the weeks to come.
 Robert's plans are to build a HUGE Buddhist Monastery with the largest Buddha Statue in North America/ United States. The Buddha Statue will be built upon a high bluff looking towards the Pacific Ocean.
 Robert Swetz also plans on building a home for his family and will live on the acreage for 6 months every year.
 The reason Mr Swetz is planning on building a Buddhist Monastery is because he respects the Buddha religion. Also Mr Swetz has some very large investments that he feels produced "Pennies from Heaven" so Mr Swetz wants to give back which in turn will create "Great Karma" for Mr Swetz's life ;o)

I hope you keep us posted in this endeavor of yours. I think the Buddhist image is beautiful. I hope someone builds one of Jesus that big. There may even be one somewhere in America but I am not aware of it.

Hello Hannah ... Sorry about not being around very much! I pounded the AR network with stories, photos, videos and so much more for around 4-5 years. There didn't seem to be enough followers and AR became so clicky with many rude people around. You Hannah and a couple dozen other AR members were great and I liked interacting with them.

That is quite a statue -- and best of luck with your plans -- it sounds like a fascinating project.  Many years ago, I read about a wealthy individual who wanted to construct a statue of 'blind justice' in the San Francisco harbor (to be a beacon for immigrants from Asia, much in the way that the Statue of Liberty is in New York harbor for immigrants from Europe).

In any event, your project reminded of that.
