Champagne and Chocolate for Customs House Museum
The Fifth Annual Champagne and Chocolate Fundraising Event is being held on January 30th. The festivities will start at 5:30 and continue until 8:00pm at the Customs House Museum. This is being organized by the Museum Guild with the help of many area restaurants.
The cost of an event tickets is $50. Remember this is a fundraising effort that helps the Customs House Museum with so many of its projects. There are a limited number of tickets but you can secure yours by contacting Linda Maki at 931-648-5780.
Some of the local food sponsors that have committed so far are Sweet Memories, The Relish, Catering Corner, The Gilroy, The Alley and Chick-fil-A on Wilma Rudolph Blvd. The list is likely to grow and the delicacies will be well worth the price of the ticket. Other treats are also being planned including some select items and various products for a silent auction.
Guild Members have been hard at work planning and detailing this annual event. The Museum has quality standing exhibits and many featuring local artists and life in Clarksville in times past.

The Customs House Museum is located at 200 South Second St. in Downtown Clarksville. There are open Tuesday through Sunday and Closed on Mondays. Admission prices are modest with a free admission on the first Saturday of the month.
The Customs House Museum is housed in a 1898 historic building that has a very interesting history in Historic Downtown Clarksville TN. It is by far the most unusual looking building in town. A variety of different architectural styles were incorporated into the plan. The building originally was served as a United States Post Office. Read more as I tell the story in a previous post.
