Wordless Wednesday | the Wedge in Newport Beach

The Wedge in Newport Beach

This photo was taken the day before the waves got really huge at the Wedge in Newport Beach as a result of Hurricane Marie.

The surfer got a great ride on this wave.

The waves are expected to be big again this weekend as a result of Tropical Storm Norbert, but they are not expected to be as large as last week!

Hope you all have a great Wednesday!

Sharon,

That is an absolutely gorgeous shot.  We have seen another similar one taken in Santa Barbara for one of our clients' slideshow.  It takes your breath away.   A

Breathtaking photo!  I love the spray of the wave being caught in the wind, just beautiful.  This had to be a ride to make that surfers day.

What a great photo Sharon.  I learned to ski, but living three hours from the Atlantic never even tried surfing.

Sharon,

I've seen some videos of surfers who are taking one heck of a chance in those waters.

Sharon, that's a huge wave so the surfers must be loving what is coming their way from Hawaii.  Ride em while you have them!

Good morning Sharon. Great shot that you captured. Takes some real serious courage to take on those waves, body surfing will work just fine for me.

Oh my, that's an impressive wave! 'Would love to live in a place where I could sit on the beach and watch the waves... maybe after we move to Delaware, since we'll only be about 1/2 hour to the Atlantic. Probably won't see anything this big, but we'll see a lot more than we do in Crofton. LOL.

GREAT photo!

Great picture! I love the huge waves, in the old days, I'd be body surfing in Emerald Bay, but I'm too old/smart now.

Sharon, this would have been to cool to see, and that surfer sure was taking some risks.
