Don't wait too long to stop in for a visit, it may be too late.
I drive by Thorp Wisconsin often as I travel between my Forestry offices in Steven Point and Cadott Wisconsin and as I drive by I often think to myself, “I should stop and see Ed someday soon”.
Ed is a Real Estate Broker who has sold several properties for me and we have been referring clients to each other for decades.
And more importantly Ed is a friend who is always a pleasure to talk to and share stories, advice, and business.
Erica Ramus suggested that we stop by and visit some of our friends and colleagues this month and I thought that this would be a good time to actually take an hour or so to stop and visit and reconnect with Ed.
Unfortunately I was too late, as with far too many friends these days, Ed is no longer with us.
I feel bad for not taking the time to keep in touch, and he is not the only one that has surprised me by leaving this world before we could talk one more time.
Perhaps a change in in order before I lose any more friends.
I had been sending business his way, I sent several potential clients his way in the past few months, and should have noticed that he never called when he heard from them.
Hopefully I will take this far too delayed coffee break as a lesson and a warning and spend a little more time keeping in touch with old and new friends.
