Hi Debbie - love the post!  I think that being a small business owner takes a different way of thinking.  The question goes from "can I get ______ done?" to "how can I get ______ done?"  I have tons of respect for owners of businesses of all sizes.

Debbie, as small business owners we always have to think outside the box. It's what keeps us competitive. Great post!

Hi Debbie: As the owner of small business, I am my own boss and if I fail, the business goes down with me. So each effort put to use is for its own growth.

This is good advice. Most of the very successful real estate professionals are very creative people and constantly find new and better ways to do things.

Staying in the box doesn't allow us to grow, so it is important to get outside of the box every now and then!

Yes that is me, the cook, the cleaner and the bottle washer, along with everything else that needs to be done,

I like to think that I think outside of the box everyday!  

A business owner wears many hats, like you said, and everytime they see something that needs doing, they take care of it.  No one cares as much as the owner!

Debbie for those of us on the Lending side of the business thinking outside the box in the norm these days rather than the exception.  As Lending guidelines change and documentation increases, we need to be more and more creating in how we approach each loan.  There is no more such a thing as a standard loan, each one has a different set of circumstances and challenges, which require us to be ready be more creative with out thinking.

I have to agree, small business owners always have to think outside the box.

Debbie - I try very hard not to be in the box.  Living at the edge or outside the box is where things happen.

Lovely picture and great read.  I look back at my life and what I've done work-wise in the past.  It's amazing what I did, and accomplished.  You just have to just right in at times, that's for sure!

Debbie, now that is thinking outside of the box. I love it when I see things that seem so obvious, yet had never seen them before. Sometimes we are too typical in our patterns of thought.

Some great insight into who you are Debbie and why you are so successful.  So important to use all of our senses and our experience to look for solutions that are not so obvious.
