It's That Time Of Year
It's that time of year I look forward to. As a dual career agent (not a fan of the term "part time agent" because I don't think it fits what I do at all), it's that rare time of the year when I can set aside at least half of my workload for a couple of weeks as I take a break from the day job. And since it's also the time of year in our market when my buyers also tend to be in "vacation" mode too, the real estate demands on my day drop a bit too.
It's the time of year when we first start seeing the signs of what the next year will bring. Web requests for home valuations, buyer inquiries from potential relocators, etc.
It's the time of year when we get to visit family for Christmas and enjoy things we may not get to do the rest of the year. A trip into the mountains of West Virginia and hoping to dodge a big snowfall while there.
It's the time of year that provides the opportunity to catch up on some personal recuperation time (hey, no 5:45 a.m. alarm clocks for a couple of weeks!). The latest Tom Clancy books get read (okay, he may be RIP but his ghostwriters continue the money train of Jack Ryan novels). It's time to catch up on a movie or two (The Hobbit's latest chapter has been enjoyed).
And it's time to work on some of those To Do items that have trouble making it to the top at other times (face it, when balancing two jobs, you have to be ruthlessly efficient with your priorities):
- organizing posts for our WP site
- more evaluation of what blog topics are working for us
- planning for some 2015 activities to increase our business (and yes, blogging and our WP site definitely play big roles).
- and working on adding the CRS designation (hallelujah for the Pro version as I've just finished a decade as an agent last July)
- Assessing any end of year expenses to make before the calendar year turns over
Yep, it's that time of year again!
