 Doing What You Love

In our real estate world, I would say that most of us that have been around a while love what we do. We get to met all sorts of different people and in the process , we build our real estate business around those we want to work with.

The same holds true in other professions as well. This gentleman is a character actor in the community of Julian and they put on shows of the old west free for all ( tips are appreciated). They do this for the tourist trade that come there to visit a community that has maintained it original old west flavor from the days of the California Gold Rush.

With just a few hundred full time residents, Julian has also become famous for it's apples orchards and is home to a number of Apple Pie makers. From where I live it is only about an hour East and for home made tasting pies that exceed all expectations, I wouldn't even consider buying pies from any other source.

On any given weekend Julian will have at least a couple thousand tourists enjoying both slices of pie and most always taking a couple pies and even natural homemade cider home. And of course the atmosphere and the vivid characters of the old west make the journey there a really fun experience.

Character

I rarely if ever take photos of people. I make an exception now and then to show you some of the wonderful characters that make up and enhance your San Diego experience.

William Johnson what a wonderful place Julian sounds like! I love the photo so I am glad you deviated from the usual no pictures of people....

I hope to visit someday! I love learning about all the places I would never have known about but now know I have to see.

Thanks!

William - There are people that do things entirely for the love of doing it, and I would have to say that I am doing a pretty good job of that myself. I guess I would say that I am pretty lucky.

Now, about that apple pie...

You know what, William?  When I see photos like that one, I don't think I'm living life right!  There are certain characters that simply resonate at the soul level with me.  Provide characters of the Old West, or a bunch of Pirates, and I feel Deja Vu all over again!

CONGRATULATIONS on having this blog FEATURED in the PHOTOS group!

Hi William --  although I'm a native Californian and even lived in San Diego for a short time, I don't believe I've ever been to Julian.  Of course, I know of its history and famous apples - your story and photo have inspired me to visit.

William, wow!  An age-appropriate flirt-worthy guy?  And you're so right about doing what you love.  That's not even like work.

HI Myrl Jeffcoat , I think ( feel certain) that you have lived before , likley as a pirate or at least a cowboy. You won't know until you get to heaven and get it all sorted out. St Peter will probably to remind to stay ready as there is likley to be a real comeback on the pirates.

William - What I've learned since my trip to Charleston, and also reading, is that pirates and those that ruled our land often had a close relationship.  Things haven't changed much in today's world.
