IF YOU DONT LIKE BULLS

Stay out of the bull ring. Become a viewer or observer but leave the fighting of bulls to bullfighters and matadors who understand what the dynamics are when entering into the arena. This applies to just about any venture too. Start-up, being a newbie, being green (naive), inexperienced all had to have a starting point to not be these things anymore

FIRST TIME...good stuff

I remember fondly my learning how to text but not after putting it off for months and months. When I finally figured it out, I picked up speed to my liking. Same for my first laptop too. Working without a mouse I thought interesting as my finger was now the mouse. How did they do that? I found out!

CAN I DO THIS?

I remember my first post, comment and blog but I didn't know what a blog was. A post to me was a report on a subject but what? To whom? Why? Well, once you jump in, 90% of your answers come before you ask. That's what experience, learning curves, trial & error and refinement does. It teaches as you go and sometimes involves HEAT...or the price to be paid. More on this....

PEOPLE

What interferes with learning is people but, here in lies the paradox of it all no matter what the subject or the profession, deed or traveling point. People are both the pleasure and the pain when it comes to learning. We don't know until later things like second skins, hurt and rewards until we jump in again

SORTING IT OUT

I have seen kids be cruel to kids by default not intention. But I also saw how kids learn from kids although they learn the good and the bad. That's where parenting comes in. Parents help you sort it out and they tell you what behavior stays and what has to go. Well that system is still at work but not only with parents...all adults (should) practice this

ONGOING

The world at large now teaches the subject matter. When you get your first job, they will train you into what they want to see and allow. They cant possibly cover it all, so training and learning is ongoing. Reviews, feedback and rewards helps this all long. Encouragement brings out the best first

THE HEAT!

Now to the core of the subject of the post. HEAT. I am speaking about the price to be paid when learning something for the first time or until you get it. If you don't like the HEAT, then you don't belong anywhere near a hot spot. Unfortunately, that is where the growth lies and the path points toward

NO SLAPS ON WRISTS FOR ADULTS

It is interesting to note how we fine, penalize and make ongoing documented records in regards to tickets one gets while driving. Human nature doesn't learn the same way all the time. Making it hurt plus unforgettable helps to deter many from repeating that behavior. Others learn from the story or by watching. We all have our learning ways. However, the price for it remains to be paid in some way

GOOD FOR BOTH

I noticed that when I can learn without having to pay a price for something, I am at the stage in my life where I can appreciate that lesson to the fullest at no cost. I not only practice what I learned, but pass it around for some other poor fellow just like me to take in and make it work. That's good for all

SECOND SKIN?

I can handle the rough spots now. How? Well second skin comes in right handy. I wish someone would have told me about this sooner. Another factor is that living life and not just existing involves risks and what would an adventure be without some calculated risk built into it? The gain is hidden in the risk

DON'T MISS A BEAT

Hitting the ground running was another good piece of advice that I trained for in many things. I found that when one does their homework, test a few things out and then wants to participate or create something, it helps to land on your feet and keep pace with the circumstance. People respect that

CHARACTER COSTS

Keep in mind that when one literally hits the mainstreams of life, they are then seen, criticized and assessed because being out in the public arena comes with all that. Learning to navigate through it is the process that builds character. Yes to getting out there any way you can. The alternative doesn't pay

PERSONALITIES

After that comes the ability to understand how to navigate through all the different personalities successfully but here is a surprise. There is no end to personalities out there so this remains ongoing throughout ones life. Learning this early on helps one to get ahead, stay ahead and keep their head!

BYE-BYE?

Just when you finally figure some things out, let go of others, enjoy the rewards and shrug off the boo-boos, a strange reality makes itself known. It's nearing the time to go. What we don't realize is that the brevity of life is upon us all. May it  teach and instruct you in having a satisfying life journey

Lessons we all learn in life, some we wish we learned quicker or sooner, but better try then never do.

I am old I know, but I do amaze my grandchildren with technological knowledge that they didn't think I could I had. I try and stay on top of everything, but it's hard to do.

Learning to deal with the multitude of personalities can be the hardest lesson for many. You talk about a "second skin" mine is getting to be much more Teflon then it used to be. Now if I run into someone bombastic I no longer feel the urge to set them straight or put them in their place, I just move on and maybe say a little prayer for them.

It is funny that when we finally start getting the hang out things, it ends up being time to go soon thereafter, haha.  I am early in my career though, so that end is not yet in sight, haha.

Richie, I am so much more open to help people who make the wrong missteps in real estate than before...if they need help, I don't need to gain anything from it but I hate and dislike people who take advantage, almost cruelly, from those who lack an advantage.  It is the same in all parts of our lives...it is short and becomes shorter...I want to share as much as I can for the better good of future generations...

If we only knew what the road we take had in store for us, we, probably, would never take it in the first place. But we plunge, and then the first obstacle comes, and we figure we could take it, and then another, and another, and another... and then we wonder whether it was worth it, but we went too far, and spent too much (including mental energy), so we keep going, and do what we would not have done if we knew and could anticipate it from the get go...

That's how things are done. And that's how we learn if we can handle heat...
