Is Ombré the solution to your bull nose corners?

You say ombré is not a part of your everyday vocabulary? You must not follow the Kardashian’s (not that I do).

Here is trusty Wikipedia to help you out.

Ombré is typically used to transition vertically like this.

That is what “everybody” does.

However it has another use that I think can be more helpful and individual.

One of the challenges as bull nose corners become popular was how to change color from one room to the next.

We have typically relied on a straight edge transition.

Sometimes that leaves two colors in stark contrast.

You can use the ombré technique to wrap around a bull nose corner from one room to the next.

This is not exactly what I have in mind but will give you an idea.

Maybe you have an interior corner you would like to transition?

One final caution, ombré can easily be overdone. Consider using other painting techniques in addition to ombré.

Good morning David!  I never thought of the use of "ombre" in painting rooms and your pictures tell why it's a great idea. Thanks for sharing and giving me an "ah-ha" moment!  Happy holidays!

Interesting - I hadn't heard of using this painting technique, but I can see where it would make sense. Thanks for sharing!

I've seen this technique on refinished furniture as well as clothing, but never on walls. I needed this tip several years ago at an awkward transition. Thanks for the tip, David!

I don't follow the Kardashians, either, but I do know what ombre means. Clearly not a great option for walls in dertain circumstances.

Definitely a new term and one I'll probably avoid if the the Cardassians are using it.  Really wish they didn't live 15 minutes away.
