Time to Spring Into Cleaning!
Even though the season is almost at an end, there are still buyers out there. Palm Beach County sellers still have time to sell their house, so you will want to get in in move-in ready condition.
And, as you’ve been told, or read, CLEAN is king when selling your house.
Here are 7 spring cleaning tips you can use when selling your house!
1.Edit Before You Begin
Why clean what you’re going to toss? You’re going to want to do this anyway if you’re selling your house. Throw away or donate what you no longer need or use.
Start your life in your new home free of time and space eaters!
2. Summer proof your landscaping
Yes, it gets hot here in South Florida, so it’s time to make sure you have plants that won’t require a lot of water or maintenance, especially if you’ll be out a lot.
Curb appeal is as important in selling your house as is the house itself. Dead or withered flowers don’t paint a pretty picture.
3. Trim NOW before hurricane season.
Hurricane season begins in just a few months, and you will be asked to make sure that your trees have been trimmed before a hurricane arrives. The strong winds from a hurricane can make missiles out of weak branches. And, if you wait too late, your local waste management company may not have time to remove them.
4.With 24/7 air conditioning, our houses are often sealed up for months.
No one wants to leave their windows open and A/C off when it’s 90+ degrees with an equal humidity.
Change your air filters, if you haven’t already.
There are natural ways to help keep your home smelling fresh that won’t make your home smell like something out of a can.
5. Windows and Screens
South Florida buyers are buying our lifestyle and that includes outdoor living. Let them see it!
Make sure you windows sparkle.
Next, remove your window screens! It will be too hot for anything other than having the air-condition on so you won’t need your screens.
And, did you know that removing screens can let in as much as 30% more light!
6. Sliding door tracks
If you have sliding patio doors, check your tracks. Clean them with whatever homemade solution you use for cleaning. And while you’re at it, check them to make sure they are easy to open. There’s nothing like having a buyer unable to check out your patio because the door is stuck.
7. Don’t forget your dishwasher and disposal.
Buyers will open your dishwasher! So it’s a great time to clean it as well as freshen your disposal.
For the disposal, running ice cubes can help keep the blades clean. You can also pour baking soda down the drain and then add vinegar. You’ll love the mini-volcano.
