The word hero is thrown around too much these days, however, John Glenn...Mercury Astronaut, test pilot, U.S. Senator, oldest person to go into space (at 77), and service in World War II and the Korean War certainly would have qualified.

John Glenn passed away December 8, 2016 at the age of 95. Just having been one of the above would have been enough for most of us. But look at all that he attempted and achieved.
