Yes, There’s Another Los Angeles Election
California 34th Congressional District Special Election, Tuesday, April 4, 2017
On Tuesday, April 4, 2017 a special election will be held to choose the member of the United States House of Representatives for California’s 34th congressional district. If needed, a runoff will take place on June 6, 2017.
There are 24 candidates(including one write-in) running, so the likelihood of a runoff is pretty high. You can read about the candidates in a special Los Angeles Times link I have included here including where to vote on Tuesday.
The district is located primarily within the city of Los Angeles and includes the following neighborhoods: Boyle Heights, Chinatown, City Terrace, Cypress Park, Downtown Los Angeles, Eagle Rock, El Sereno, Garvanza, Glassell Park, Hermon, Highland Park, Koreatown, Little Bangladesh, Little Tokyo, Lincoln Heights, Montecito Heights, Monterey Hills, Mount Washington, Sycamore Grove and Westlake.
The seat is open due to the appointment of former Representative Xavier Becerra who was nominated and confirmed to be Attorney General for the State of California. Becerra succeeds Kamala Harris who became United States Senator in November, 2016 replacing the retired Barbara Boxer.
If you live in the district and are eligible to vote, I encourage you to do so. And if you are considering a move in one of the neighborhoods of the 34th Congressional District and want to know more about area real estate, please contact me at 818.516.4393 cell. Let’s discuss what is important to you whether you are thinking of buying or selling. Or maybe both.
