Thankful Equals Listening...
Today after enjoying a long, peaceful hike early this morning I came to a very thoughtful and contemplative moment. I knew the day was going to be filled with activities for clients as well as a few business meetings. But something was different in that moment this morning. Instead of 'rushing' to get back and get started I knew, just knew, all would go smoothly and perfectly today. And it has.
You see, after 30 years in the real estate business the relationships we have with our clients has been a true gift. It's all about our people! Sure we do whatever we need to do to make sure homes are show ready as well as help our buyers find the perfect home (all things real estate)! But what is most important is listening to each client - in the moment. When I say listening I mean really listening - to hear what they're really saying - not to respond. What are their needs? What do they really want? What's working, what's not working. How can we best assist them right now?
For instance one of our sellers was having an issue yesterday with a commercial building he owns (of which we have no part). I just listened and knew he'd figure out a solution after talking a bit, and he did. This is how I show our clients (and friends) that I am thankful for our relationship! I listen and I care about them. I honestly wish I had more time to spend with so many folks but there are just so many hours in a day. And many of our clients are more than just business clients - way more! We have a circle of friends that began as clients years ago but it morphed into a great group of folks that play and do business together to this day.
Sure I could go on and on about about all the stuff we've done over the years to show our clients we're thankful for them - and trust me we've done - A LOT of fun stuff and still do. For example, parties, wine tastings, dinner, lunches, brunches, coffees, cards, gifts, gift cards, baskets, flowers, birthday cakes and I could go on & on.
What I know for sure is that the most important way I can show
my thankfulness to my clients is to simply listen to them!
