If Not The Solution.. It May Be The Problem

Just wanted to wish you a happy Friday Margaret:))))))))))) I was just kidding could not help it, yes either you are part of the problem or part of the solution...

I know quite a few "point hogs" on this platform will not mention them by name but they think that is the way to move on this platform..they are missing out on the benefit of interacting,building relationships which either leads to friendship or referrals or amazingly enough both, Endre

MARGARET, I think a good blog deserves a meaningful commentary or question. ActiveRain is a place to share ideas and experiences, and by expressing thoughtful commentary comments benefits the community much more than a simple yes, thank you, goodbye. Thank you for posting this blog.

If you have gone through the trouble of reading a post then you may as well at least try to add something insightful in the comments. It's not like the extra 25 points from a canned response is really going to make your phone ring. You get out of it what you put into it.

I agree 100% with what you have written here, Margaret.  I think complaints may discourage some from wanting to comment at all.

Margaret, in my opinion, one of the most valuable benefits of this platform is the relationship building. It's pretty difficult to do that if you don't take the time to actually respond to someones post in a thoughtful manner. If I'm going to take the time to read a post, I'm going to take a few seconds to gather my thoughts and try to "add" to the discussion, or at least compliment the author.  As for complaining, it does little good, and in fact, fosters bad feelings for the complainer, and others in their path. 

Good points ofr sure.  Most times when a person is the problem they do not see it that way.

I hate the thoughtless comments that reveal the commentor is only in this for the points, not the information or networking.

I agree with your post and the point posters are missing out on the best part of the Rain, building relationships.
