Sedona Weather January 2018Sedona Weather January 2018

Sedona Weather for January 2018 - While the rest of the country east of Arizona is having extremely cold weather and freezing conditions, Arizona and Sedona was experiencing warmer than the average January weather. The high and low days for January was 3º warmer than last year and the average was 6.5º higher than last year. We did get 1.76 inches of rain in January and just a trace of snow.

What Stands Out...

Last year we recorded 300 days of sunshine. This year, there were 26 days of sunshine this January. This is eight days ahead of last year's pace.  Sedona had only 4 days with rain. this is probably why we are ahead of last year's sunshine numbers. Another reason why the temps were more mild this January was the number of days below 50º for a high.  There were only three compared to fifteen last January. Overall - Sedona is a wonderful place to live every season of the year. Sedona gets seasonal weather but each season is mild and conditions are bearable compared to other parts of the country.

Hi Sheri... of course, 45 degrees does not seem warm to me! We've had a lot those temps here in Charlotte for weeks and it feels really cold to me. Fortunately, it will be close to 60 today. Can't wait!

Good morning Sheri Sperry - MCNE® ,

You have enjoyed warmer than normal temperatures. We have experienced colder than normal in January! Mother Nature is very confused!

Hi Dorie Dillard - When the weather forecasts show the USA map, California and Arizona are in the warm zone. NOrmally the weather dips down CA and then moves east through AZ. Not this year!

Hi Sheila Anderson - My bet is that these are people who are from the colder climates using the pool!  There are some who use the pool for exercise.

I was going to say the same "your killing me" as we have had the coldest winter for ever. -14 is no fun. We have warmed a little and that means snow, 8-10 inches for Wednesday Sheri Sperry - MCNE®

Hi Scott Godzyk - It is hard to even imagine temps like that. In the 13 years I have lived her we have had only a few days that temps did not get above freezing. My husband has the stats on his website from 2011 on and there are only 2 days.

We have had several days in the 70s here in Sacramento.  We are breaking records.  In the past we averaged about 10 days below freezing, but it's been a couple winters without temps reaching those lows.

Morning Sheri.

When we left Tuesday for Florida it was 25 not counting the wind chill.  When we touched down in Ft. Myers it was a toasty 80.  Trying to convince the wife we need to move.

HI James Dray - Nice to thaw out! We are such lightweigts, we would go to Maui right now to get away from the "cold" temps in Sedona. We would stay a month and by the time we got back, the trees were flowering!
