It has been a wonderfully busy with new listings and sales. Along with the sales there are many different home inspections, including radon.
My last two buyers purchased homes that had elevated radon levels. One was in a near panic the other was not even aware that radon was a concern.
The first had a radon system recently installed and when we retested the level was well below the EPA maximum of 4 picoCuries.
This is what an acceptable radon graph looks like.
The average level, over a two day period, is well below 4.
This shows that the remediation system is working.
Radon can be found in any type of property.
I have seen elevated levels in brand new homes, historic homes, townhomes, homes on slabs, condominiums and those with and without sump pumps.
Don't let a radon level stop your home purchase.
If you are concerned, get a radon test.
