Last evening, a few family members gathered at my home to enjoy a pleasant dinner. I had created a couple Italian dishes, which included homemade Pesto, an Eggplant Parmesan, and another dish conjured from my imagination. In the third dish, I had tossed together in my crockpot, 1” Boneless Chicken Thigh chucks, along with Alfredo Sauce, Sour Cream, Capers and Sun Dried Tomatoes. I added in Lemon Juice and White Wine. It was served on a Bed of Egg Noodles.
The Pesto Sauce (made with Fresh Basil Leaves, Pinenuts, Parmesan Cheese and Olive Oil) partnered up with Fettuccini. I think it all turned out well.
However, one of the great little surprises of the evening - a bottle of wine which had been gifted to me by Don Anderson, a guy I had worked with at a software company years ago. He had given it to me about a month ago, when several of us had reunited for lunch.
My daughter, Jill, and I are always in search of good reasonably priced wines. And, I must say this wine fits the bill. The label is Georges Duboeuf 2016 Flower Label (Beaujolais-Villages). The contents of this bottle had a bright deep red cherry color and a delightful fruity taste. We loved it! Thanks, Don Anderson!
