In the early morning hours as most everyone has seen Louisiana took on a powerful Hurricane Laura. A Category 4 hurricane packing a punch of 150 mph winds and being just shy of a Category 5. If you have been on social media today you would have seen the mass destruction this powerful storm left behind. Homes under water. Roofs blown up or completely peeled back exposing the inside of everything that someone holds dear. Business around the cities completely destroyed. Glass blown out of buildings and bricks that once covered a building piled on the sidewalk. So many people will be homeless, lives are lost, and it will probably take years to rebuild beautiful perishes and lives.
It is in times like this when I look around and I am so thankful for so many things. Thankful for my life and my safety. Thankful that I am able to help and donate to relief funds for those directly affected by Hurricanes or other disasters. Thankful that my family is safe and thankful in knowing to the core of my being that "Things" can be replaced but people cannot. I cannot even begin to fully understand the emotions many are feeling and trying to wrap their head around. I cannot imagine waking up one morning knowing that this may be the last time you see your home the way it is at that very moment.I cannot imagine the feelings, the fear and the concern others were faced with, who didn't evacuate, as this storm came howling in. What I do know is that I am thankful you are still here, you are still alive because the world must really need you. I'm sorry for what you are going through.
I'm thankful for our first responders, the National Guard and the men and women who will come out to assist others in need. From handing out water to covering exposed roofs, to rescuing those stranded in flood waters and maybe even some buried beneath the rubble.
If you are reading this and you feel so inclined to help those who directly impacted by Hurricane Laura, please follow any of the links below to make a donation. Pray for those impacted. Pray for the lineworkers and the many volunteers that are heading to LA to assist in any way that they can. If you can volunteer, I would encourage you to do so. Please, keep in mind that the donations you make help families to rebuild. They help with clothing, diapers, food, formula, pet food and so much more. A little goes a long way and no donation monetarily or your time is too small.

Also, check with your local state and county as many areas are putting together food, clothing and pet food drives to help those in LA.
