Recently asked how I would describe my Real Estate Business, I told them how long I had been a Realtor® since 1990, what my previous careers were, a Pediatric Head Nurse, and a porcelain/ceramic artist. I also shared my daily blogging and ALL ABOUT REAL ESTATE, my weekly live radio show.
I went on to describe my favorite client.
It is an owner with a home perceived by others as "hard to sell." Maybe it's been on the market before, maybe with more than one agent. It is perhaps unusual, funky, or quirky. These are the properties that turn me on. How can I take an 'unsalable' home and find the perfect buyer?
Answering these questions above describes what I love to do. I've never been one to rack up listings. I love to find the owner of an unusual home. The more unique a property, the more interesting I find the seller. Why did they buy this home? How they have used it.
They share the perceived or apparent negatives of the property and, of course, what they have loved about it.
During the process, we do wind up as real estate partners and frequently friends.
We have the same goal, get your unique home sold for as much as possible and to the right buyer. It is kind of like matchmaking. You can describe the perfect home, but until you walk into it...you don't know.
It may not be the home you have described, but it is, and you know it the perfect place!
