This Week…A Big Test
It’s been a busy week monitoring our bluebird boxes. There are times when you want to step in and help but you have to remember that Mother Nature has been doing this a lot longer than we have.

Yesterday we were observing the bluebird parents watching over their fledglings (from Thursday). The parents continue to feed the chicks…which they’ve led to shelter in nearby trees) for about 3 weeks.

Larry found a chick in the tall grass and was concerned that it would become dinner for a predator. We could see mamma and papa on a box up high but had no way of knowing if they could see the little chick.
Larry decided to attempt to pick it up and move it closer to where the parents were and as soon as he did, the dive-bombing began. Thankfully, that let us know that they did indeed have a watchful eye on the new chick.

The Big Test was last night for my niece’s oldest “chick” who tested for his black belt in Taekwondo. He has been practicing so hard, and we’ve all been nervous for him.
I’ve seen him break boards in practice but fail to break one during a test. It’s all mental and he understands that.
I had to return to add that after 4 hours my great-nephew did pass the tests to receive his 1st degree Black Belt! Whew!!!!
If something stands between you and your success, move it. Never be denied.
Whatever tests you face this weekend,
I hope you’ll pass with flying colors!!!
