STARBUCKS

By
Real Estate Agent with Coldwell Banker Residential

Ahhh.  The first sip.  Piping hot.

Delicious.

I am back at Starbucks.  My new location.  The 95th and 59 location in Naperville, Illinois.

This week was the first week of school for children in Naperville.  Happy stress free moms are all over the place.

There have been groups of 2,3, 4, 5, and even 6 women gathering and having just a wonderful carefree time.

Kids at school?  Let's get together.

Today is a rare rainy day.  Cool and wet.

I know other areas of the country have been getting pounded by rain, but not here in the midwest.

Lawns have been browning.  We need this rain.

Bye ladies!  (three women sitting next to me have just packed up and headed out)

So when are you ladies planning on moving!!! :)

I am in disguise today.  I am not dressed up as Mr. Realtor.

This morning I am wearing a long sleeve University of Illinois shirt.  Like I said, a cool morning.

I am tying up a few loose ends.  Taking care of business.

I have showings this afternoon.  My buyers seem excited about a home we will be seeing.  A lovely 4 bedroom in the perfect school district in the perfect neighborhood.  Just listed this week.

I am excited too.

I try to stay fairly even keel with my real estate emotions.  My defense mechanism.  The highs and lows of a career in real estate can keep you up at night.  I don't like to lose sleep.

I try to take the volatility out of it.  Keeps me focused on the task at hand.

Marketing.  Letting people know what I do.  Staying in touch.  Being active.

An energy provider.  Always an energy provider.

Ken

Hi Ken- Good Luck with the showing this afternoon- I have my fingers crossed for you! I am hoping to come back to see a "offer to purchase" blog- I have two in the works right now and am trying to take your advice and stay on the even keel.

Sounds like a pretty idyllic morning, all told. We're having a nice cloudy morning here in SoCal too, I think the gloom is reverberating from Naperville. I must say, I'm enjoying it!

Hi Barbara and January.  Thanks for stopping by.

Keeping an even keel, I don't even worry about luck.  Just go out, do our job, and contracts will come.  Nose to grindstone!:)

Sounds like you may be there to pick up chicks!!  ;)

I frequent the local Starbucks!  The other morning, my 6 year old son asked me if I knew his (the barista) name....  How many times have I stopped to order my Vente-Decaf-Iced-Americano-with cream-and a slenda from him and NO, I don't know his name.  BAD realtor.  i will ask today!

Man,  would love to have a laid back morning at STARBUCKS but with all the dealings of leaving my KW office and dealing with all the business that has materialized since my move to REMAX (I have taken two listings and I'm trying to take a third tomorrow), I scarcely have time to do all my normal daddy and husband stuff that is of utmost importance in my life too! Good for you, able to take it down a notch and kick back.

I wish it were cool here today...long sleeve dress shirts in 85 degree weather with increasing humidity is a bad combination!

The even keel is key. I don't look at the scoreboard until the end of 12 months. If I worry what has happened or not happened at the end of each week the swings would wear me down.
