More posts and questions are written about points than any other topic on this platform
So much discussion, how to get them, who has the most, why was that post featured, how do I get featured, where are my points, why did I lose points?
Points points points points points!
Most of us who have been here for so long have accrued many..millions.
But for me, it may not be the points...it may be the accountability
I don't check my points but I do check my stats.
That is where I am accountable! What does it show?

From the beginning of ActiveRain we were motivated by points. There is a breakdown of how many points you get for logging in, for writing a blog, for commenting, for reblogging, and even for inviting new members. There are points for contests every single month. There are points for hosting and attending ActiveRain MeetUps.

I like certain numbers – you know that by now. There's my 944 and I love the growing numbers on Active Rain – we recently hit 150,000 members! It seems like just yesterday we celebrated 1,000 then 10,000, then 100,000.
There are many people with many more points than I have, but I'm still proud that I'm almost at 300,000 points and I have invited 125 members.
It is July 2009 and I have hit 300,000 points. Now I can go join Neal Bloom's Platinum Group!
But my favorite number? You guessed it. Today Lee and I celebrate our 15,000 th day anniversary. We celebrate every day, but those … (27 comments)

What do you do when someone with your name passes you by in the ActiveRain rankings? You say "Congratulations!" Especially when that someone is a gracious lady named Margaret Woda.
A few weeks ago, the Other Margaret of Maryland warned me to get my blogging back up to speed because she didn't want to pass me and become #2 on the Maryland page. How's that for thoughtful and considerate? I thought about what I should say for my 100,000-point celebration post. Should I be all humble and grateful? Or jumping up and down giddy? Should it just be another day with Active Rain?
The answer is, as usual, a Type E answer. Keep it simple and get it done! When a Type E needs her car washed, she doesn't mess with hoses and buckets - she sends the car in for service because they always wash it, too. In Active Rain, if you are NOT lucky, your post winds up featured.
You get lots of comments, but then you have to take the time to answer each one.
