education: Want to be sold or educated?

Some real estate agents consider themselves sales people. Fewer of us think of ourselves as educators. I tend to live in the educator camp. The things in this business that tend to stop me in my tracks are the things I thought everyone knew. Have you ever mentioned something to a client and watch their eyes glaze over? Ever heard the saying that people like to buy, not be sold. I agree with this notion 100%. Is your agent up-to-date on everything they need to know in order to to keep you out of trouble when entering into a contract for the sale or purchase of real estate? The answer would seem to be the most obvious one that of course they are, isn't everyone? Well, unfortunately the answer to that one is no. There are many classes given throughout the year that are designed to keep agents updated on things as diverse as how to take effective listing pictures to classes on the changes coming up in the contracts we use and what they will mean … (3 comments)

I am off this afternoon to another class. This one is called Advanced Online Strategy Workshop. I have to give Prudential credit, they are always offering interesting classes to the agents. But why is this important you ask? Good question. When I work with a new Seller, I want to be able to offer the very best marketing to them. This will show off their home in the very best light, and to as many people as possible. I already offer ful motion narrated video tours of my listings for free.
