Pedestrian Tales From the Middle of the Road, #23 ...and another one. It's been a few weeks, so I figure Brevard County Sheriff Jack Parker is feeling a bit unlucky that this one happened on his watch. In what I can view as the only positive here, the Florida Highway Patrol has gotten a bit bolder and more explicit in detailing these pedestrian deaths caused by the pedestrians themselves. Let's crack down on motorists who fail to yield the right-of-way when required to do so, but it's well past time we did more towards enforcing pedestrian traffic laws. It's a needed … (2 comments)
Wal-Mart at Valentine's- for all of your lovin' needs! Nearly Speechless Sunday from last Sunday. I made a last-minute trip to Wal-Mart for something (not even anything Valentine's-related), when I stumbled across this display. Now, I'm all for Wal-Mart selling whatever the heck they can legally sell. Florida foreclosures...mediation no more means faster sales once more? Very interesting, indeed... This is something to follow rather closely- and I'll be interested in seeing what this means for us in both the near and short term. Where do I fall in this argument? Well, I think this will be a good thing for my business. Folks that stand to get booted from homes they've owned means many folks are out on the market looking for places to rent- and some for the first time in their lives.
