keller williams: Cary, NC: Photos from a little stroll after lunch
- 04/05/11 05:17 PM
The new Keller Williams Cary office really enjoys the classic "Park-like Setting" that we see so often in MLS descriptions.
And with the gray skies giving way to bright blue with fluffy white clouds, I just felt compelled to take the old Kodak for a stroll around campus after lunch. The wind was blowing hard enough it was nearly impossible to catch blooms and blossoms still enough to catch a great image, but the snapshots in the slide show will give you a pretty good idea of the beauty in an acre or so in the Heart of Cary, NC. Dogwoods, Azaleas,
keller williams: Keller Williams Realty Cary NC Cobroker Reception: What fun!
- 03/23/11 12:03 AM
Scheduled for Thursday night, March 24, 2011, we are going to show off our new offices with a fun little evening event.(I gotta say, I love the new offices.)
We pulled up a list of a couple hundred agents who co-brokered sales with us last year, worked the phones, and invited them out for an Office Open House. Maybe feed them a little, and say, "Thank you," for working with us last year.
Why not? It is natural to appreciate the effort the other agent exerts to help keep everyone focused on the workings of the transaction, and to

. . . Having Mo Anderson visit and speak at the Carolinas Region Awards Reception has to be #1.
Having lunch with Amanda Simpson, Elizabeth Arduain, Shawna Green, Vickie Slade, Rich, Doug, and Elizabeth was great. Getting around a table with people who know how to enjoy life makes convention food taste great.
Everything is relative to your perspective. Some folks were bummed about the weather. But Tuesday night, at 51 degrees, there were kids in the hotel pool having a blast. I mentioned it seemed cool to a nice lady, and she replied, "We're from Calgary, so this
keller williams: Cary NC: Magnificent Oak Trees along Kildaire Farm Road
- 02/16/11 08:11 PM
Situated along Kildaire Farm Road near the Heart of Cary, NC, thousands of people drive by these magnificent oak trees daily, and I think many folks never see them. They are twisted and contorted, and show the scars of generations of weather and storms.
They have been bothering me since the first of the year, when we moved our Keller Williams Realty offices into the Shannon Oaks office building. I have been wanting to shoot photos of their gnarly branches against the Carolina Blue sky before they leaf out this spring. Today I grabbed my camera and took advantage of the opportunity

keller williams: Are you working for the Franchise Flag, or working for yourself? Does Brand Matter?
- 12/01/10 08:28 AM
KELLER WILLIAMS® quotes NAR who says it is your personal presence, personal contacts and referrals, that are most important in building business, and KW offers this cute video to support that position.
And if you are an Active blogger and community member on ActiveRain, is it to promote your national brand, or build recognition of your personal or team skill, reputation, and presence in your local, hyper-local marketplace?
Is it to build your market share and business volume, or market share for your office and franchise as you hope for a little trickle-down business?
Or, tangentially, does the video tell us that

keller williams: Foursquare Revisited: A Practical Use by a Reconstructed Realtor Skeptic!
- 07/30/10 09:55 PM
So I dissed Foursquare, both on Bart Wilson's Blog, and my ActiveRain Reblog of Bart's post. I'm backing up a little bit now.
I have found a practical use for Foursquare. Foursquare is my little friend, my Accountabilty Partner.
I am the Mayor of Harris Teeter at Crescent Commons in Cary, NC, and it was fun getting there. So, I think I will keep the position. Gotta check in regularly. Gotta go to HT to checkin, to do it right.
HT has one of the best salad bars in Cary, certainly the best salad bar within walking distance of Keller Williams Cary Office. And, I
keller williams: JD Powers and Cary Today polls both rate Keller Williams Realty #1
- 08/25/09 12:05 PM
A recent JD Powers poll puts KELLER WILLIAMS(R) Realty first among buyers in terms of satisfaction with the process For the 2nd consecutive year.
And last month, the Cary Today magazine, published by the Cary, NC News, published the results of their "Best of Cary" poll. That poll placed KELLER WILLIAMS(R) Cary, NC, market center 1st among offices, and 1st regarding our website.
Now I get a little skeptical about polls. I mean, I voted in the Cary News poll...
But, still, it is fun to kick stuff around like this. An amateur popularity poll in the local news does not diminish the fact
keller williams: Craigslist Rental Scam
- 03/02/09 08:24 PM
The neverending list of scams in the Raleigh area real estate section in CraigsList is quite impressive.
Renting someone else's home out to an unsuspecting sincere prospective tenant just to steal the deposit money is another new low.
Actually, this happened to a coworker in our Cary Keller Williams Realty office. We found her rental home listed on Craigslist where the scammer had copied and pasted the photo from Rent.com.
The email address was apparently real: her full name and a yahoo email address. And when she was painting at the house in Raleigh, and cleaning up the yard, she noticed that people were driving
keller williams: So, I'm at KW Family Reunion to talk Real Estate, and I find Crepes!
- 02/21/09 10:38 PM
With things warming up at Keller Williams Family Reunion, 2009, in Orlando, I ventured out for a late dinner.
KW Family Reunion attndees, take notice: You do not have to settle for a week of convention-al chicken and thematic or hotel food!!! Here's a little side trip worth taking!
I was in the mood for something I can't get in Cary or Raleigh. And I walked past the usual suspects: Maggiano's, TGIFridays, Bahama Breeze, and similar, I stumbled into a little place with a big menu in the front window.
La Creperia Cafe, in Pointe Orlando, across from Regal Cinemas.
keller williams: "The Wizard of All" or, "Getting on the Right Path at Keller Williams"
- 12/09/08 12:16 PM
We made this little video a while back, at KW Market Center #377, Cary, NC, and just absolutely had a great time doing it.
Now it is on YouTube for all to enjoy!
It isn't groundbreaking, and we set out to perform at a grade school level. I think we nailed THAT. Just a little fun expressing ourselves... What do you think?
keller williams: Cary NC Real Estate Adventures: Closing Coordinator Keeps Grateful Agent On Track!
- 01/19/08 06:50 PM
Yep, that's right.
Claire Hanes helped me slip out of the transaction strait-jacket. It helps me be a better agent.
And that is what I owe my clients, continuously improved agency.
I'm a little bit of a control freak, so sometimes it is hard to let go of details. And I would be pulling my hair out with a few transactions going at one time, and trying to stay on track with buyer or seller, dates and places, vendors and closing attorneys.
Recently our Keller Williams, Cary, NC, office was blessed that Claire Hanes offered to begin contracting to coordinate closings. I knew it was a good
keller williams: Family Reunion 2008: Registration Deadline looming. Are you in?
- 12/05/07 06:17 AM
With a December 15 registration deadline for the $499 registration fee, have you registered?
Do you have your accommodations reserved?
I'm a little excited that Family Reunion will be in the Southeast this time. I'm just hoping our Western US friends will find a way to attend. I know how tiring it is to fly across country for 4 days of maximum real estate immersion.
Some of my coworkers will drive from Cary to Atlanta. I'm waiting for Delta or AirTran to offer me a cheap RT fare, and will drive or carpool if I don't get a cheap flight.
Either way: I'm in!
keller williams: Cary NC Real Estate Agent uses Flickr to record Client's new home Construction. Clients love it!
- 11/09/07 07:42 PM
My clients travel a little, and live just a few miles farther than our Keller Williams Cary real estate office from the new home site. And the spouse works long hours, and will have a difficult time seeing the construction of the home through its phases.
What to do?
I can usually find a few minutes most days, and have driven to the home site, and taken photos on a few occasions. Email would have been a little bit clumsy to send photos.
Flickr! Oh, for sure!
With my Flickr Pro account, I can post unlimited monthly photos. And now I have delighted clients who are grateful
keller williams: Family Reunion 2008: Be there! See you February 10-13!
- 10/09/07 04:03 PM
Made my reservation last week for a room at the Omni, and registered for Keller Williams Family Reunion 2008.
Is it too soon to get excited? Gee, I hope not. I'm really stoked already.
I skipped Las Vegas this year and I felt awful the whole week, and worse when people came back all pumped up.
2008 is my turn, and I'm looking forward to Atlanta.
Hoping for a full house.
keller williams: Multiple simultaneous learning curves! Or," Create the Amateur Tech Wreck Perfect Storm, in a few easy steps!"
- 09/09/07 09:33 AM
Wondering if my learning curve is going to turn into a barrage of major league curveballs. I'm standing tough at the plate, digging in, and laughing at myself... But I don't see any Bob Gibson-type knockdown pitches coming.
My website design guru tells me we are almost there, and I have wanted a new webhosting service. So, Friday, I changed domain name registrar, taking my webhosting business along for the ride.
And my primary email is through my webhosting service.
Forgot that it can take DAYS for the change to become effective.
Meanwhile, I am activating the WolfNet IDX solution, as provided by Keller Williams.
Furthermore, just for giggles, I
keller williams: Raleigh,NC Real Estate: A few words of wisdom vs. The News and Observer's attack on REALTORS®
- 07/14/07 08:23 PM
A few of us at KELLER WILLIAMS® Realty Market Center #377 in Cary, NC responded to the Raleigh News and Observer's slam on REALTORS®.
Some of us even were published today. It was a delight to see Duane and Dani Frank, Stu Barnes, and George Wilson's names in print on the People's Forum page, along with some other very respectable industry voices.
Stu's letter was headlined, "It's about homeowners," and chastised the N&O for targeting REALTORS® at the expense of homeowners.
Duane and Dani made some great points in "Clients our priority," mentioning, "fiduciary" duty, and "This does not represent our clients' best interest. That is why we as REALTORS®
keller williams: July 4th, and a Real Estate gang gets together....Keller Williams Cary
- 07/04/07 11:18 PM
What else are you going to do when you can see the fireworks from the office? Why not pitch a tent, break out a grille, and get together to chat, celebrate the 4th of July, and watch the fireworks show?
We did, at KW Market Center #377 in Cary, NC, complete with the KW spirit of sharing. (In other words, I ate...I mean 'shared'... a BUNCH of Jim ODonnell's too-good-to-be-true homemade brownies. I'm sure he has a secret recipe, protected and locked away.)
I'm an "Eat dessert first" sort of guy, so my first photo was the pies, cakes and cookies that folks brought.
