When choosing a real estate agent to sell your house it's a good idea to get recommendations from others who have first hand experience...people who have worked with an agent and would work with them again.
Ask your family, friends and coworkers for suggestions.

Home stagers can be a great resource if you need help finding a real estate agent.

Looking for advice on selling your home? Whether you are looking for it or not, you will probably get plenty. Just mention that you are listing your house and everyone from your sister to your mailman will have suggestions.  
People are quick to throw in their  two cents when it comes to selling your  house. Two cents is about all their advice is usually worth. 
When it comes to real estate advice.....everyone has some to offer.  Your friends and/or coworkers know if you should use an agent or sell fsbo.

I've had many Home Staging clients ask me to help them choose a real estate agent.  I'm very happy to give the names of agents I've worked with and trust, but ultimately the decision is yours to make.

I just read a great blog post that I would love to reblog and share, but it's a Members Only post so I can't.
The post written by Jeffrey DiMuria  is about an email question from a new client, and Jeffrey's response. 
After Jeffrey suggested that a carpet be replaced PRIOR to listing the home, the sellers sent him an email stating that they had decided to disregard his advice.  They were willing to replace the carpet but saw no need to postpone listing until it was done. They wanted the house listed "now".
