The SPCA Suncoast in New Port Richey, FL is hosting a fund-raiser dinner on Saturday, May 14. Registration starts at 5:30, dioors open at 6 pm. The dinner will be at the Verizon Event Center, 8718 Trouble Creek Road, New Port Richey FL. 34655. (southwest corner of Little and Trouble Creek; across from Publix Center).
Many of you may have heard about the special event for Mother's Day at the SPCA Suncoast; Maggie, a Mom-To-Be, had her puppies over the weekend.
All 16 of them! No, they won't be at the dinner.

The Washington Animal Rescue League - What All Shelters Should Be
The Washington DC Animal Rescue League has what I would term a model shelter for animals. They rescue, medicate, educate the public, and really care for the creatures that come under their wing. The problem with most shelters, including the one that I’m involved with, is the lack of money. The SPCA Suncoast in New Port Richey gets NO public funding; we rely on the community, donations, and fundraising efforts.

SPCA Suncoast and the Cat and Craft Show - Starbuck’s Debut on the CircuitI had the good fortune to attend The Cat and Crafts Show about a week or so ago with several of our SPCA Suncoast adoptables. Starbuck the kitten was the sweetest thing and was entered in the show. Starbuck was awestruck by all the other kitties and since this was his first time, he wondered what was going on.

I got what I wanted - An Animal Shelter of My Very Own I was wandering around Lowe's the other day while Craig was looking at nuts, bolts, screws, whatever it is you guys find so fascinating, and I realized the Christmas decorations were out (not in the usual spot so I almost missed them).What to my wondering eyes did appear? Cheney Bros. did our chicken & ribs barbeque (lip-smacking good); and Grandma’s Candy Kitchen donated this awesome cake. (It took up 2 tables-I’m still not sure how they got it in the van).
