Following are some of the current needs for volunteers.

  1. Volunteers needed for the "Wings Over Gillespie" air show, June 6-7 at Gillespie Air Field in El Cajon. Contact Betsy Brown, 619-438-2141, betsy.brown@cox.net
  2. Meals on Wheels Greater San Diego - Volunteers work in pairs taking a meal delivery route to deliver meals to 10-15 needy seniors. Volunteers must commit to at least one day each month from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and drivers need their own vehicle, a valid license, and proof of insurance. Training and orientation are provided.   3. Creative volunteers are neded to help plan special events at the Lakeside River Park Conservancy, such as the annual 5K Trial Run/Walk and the "Once in a Blue Moon" fundraising gala. Contact Cindy Collins, 619-443-4770, cindyriverpark@yahoo.com
  4. Volunteers needed at Project Widlife's Wildlife Care Center for feeding, cleaning, food preparation, and wildlife monitoring. Contact Ali Crumpacker, 858-866-0555, acrumpacker@projectwildlife.org
  5. The USS Midway Museum needs volunteer educators who get to spend the night on board and give tours of the ship and museum to school children. Volunteers must be friendly, articulate, aable to stand and walk for several hours at a time, and be at least 18 years of age. Contact Laurie Switzer, 619-398-8222, iswitzer@midway.org
