ActiveRain Works for YOU! And, if you're new to Blogging, Social Media, SEO, and /or ActiveRain or just want more information then I urge you to invest 1 hour of your time in the ActiveRain University and their free online training sessions and classes. On Tuesday I attended the Webinar on "How to Create a Blog Post for Search Engines and Consumers?"
I've spent hours trying to write posts that would help fill my glass with "Google Juice", move me up the "Google ladder", and in plain English. . . get me business!! But all the cute pictures and turns of phrases in the world won't help if you're not following a few really easy principles.
I won't go into detail because I could never do it justice but here's a little of what I did learn.
1. Content is Key
2. Titles need to be written with Google in mind. For example, I posted today about Home Staging in Boynton Beach. Now, this wasn't my first Title The original was too long and NOT what someone searching the Internet would Google. (Okay, as embarrassed as I am about it, I'll share my original title with you: "Take a Look at what these Boynton Beach DIY Sellers were able to do after our Home Staging Consultation")
Much too long and who in the heck world would Google that??
3.Put in relevant pictures, links and back links AND make the post aesthetically pleasing. You don't want too much white space or too many sentences without breaks. Three-five lines and then break to another paragraph.
4. Don't be afraid to call upon the staff at ActiveRain for help!
This post was prompted by a phone call I received from our own Answer Man/Professor/Go to Guy Brad Andersohn. After writing my post, I emailed Brad and asked him for a critique of it. This evening I received a call from him and he spent over 30 minutes with me fixing a "spacing" issue with my post as well as helping me out with my Title and appearance.
I'm one of about 175,451 ActiveRain Members now, so I ask you what other organization do you know of that would take the time to do that?
So, if you haven't checked out the ActiveRain University Training Calendar what are you waiting for?
Take a Look at my Google juice one hour after my post:
Thanks Brad and ActiveRain.
