Hello Kathy,
Wow! What a great photo & title! Gorgeous bird! I'm interested in knowing where this photo was taken also!
Rita
Now that's cool indeed. When the guy does that, he is courting a hen which I don't see in the photo.
Great photo. We used to see alot of them roaming the neighborhood around my house, but no more. Miss the gorgeous plumage.
Kathy,
That' a great photo. Like the saying goes, "As proud as a peacock." Reading your blog, reminds me of back home in Jamaica, where peacocks reign supreme
Hi Kathy, what a great photo and beautiful peacock. We have wild turkeys here in Southern Oregon, too bad they're not as pretty as a peacock.
Kathy,
Picking a beautiful peacock as a subject is fabulous and a great photo.
Funny that is how I sometimes look after a fun day working with some buyers, where's the hair spray!
Peacocks are such a pretty bird. We used to have them here at the Oregon zoo. We actually had them for some 20 years plus until someone claimed to have been attacked by one. Then of course they got rid of them.
I suggest Aquanet Maximum Hold for this job though.
You always get visited by the most interesting creatures! Great photo, once again!
What an amazing photograph. I can only imagine what it must look like from the front...very nice.
Sorry to everyone for taking so long to respond, but I just got back in town.
Liz and Rita - the peacock is in my neighborhood in Delray Beach, FL. There used to be more but they may have had "issues" with some of the cars around.
Richard- we're coming to the end (I think) of mating season (for the peacocks, not us humans) and I do think they do that. They also make an obnoxious noise as well.
Leah- same here. I used to see as many as a dozen walking down the street.
C Lloyd- glad I could bring back goo memories of home.
Gary- well, I bet the ones in bottles are looked on with "joy" don't you think!
Rick- thanks, I am fascinated by the beautiful colors.
John- Thank you for commenting, and I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Hi Elite Homes- I was actually bribing him with bread.
Melinda- I wish I could have captured the strut on video too.
Mary- I just wish my "feathers" would be as beautiful after a day in the wind.
Hi All Brokers Real Estate- from what I've observed, the PeaHens (females) were more aggressive than the males. Shame they were sent packing though. How about ElNet?
Debra- good grief, they could be twins!!!
Sharon- I wonder what that says about me????
John - their faces are those only a mother could love but the colors are just brilliant.
Elyse- I think you'll find them more out west!
Too funny, Kathy! What fun to have wild peacocks just strutting their stuff in your neighborhood . . .
