The dog days of Summer include water events to keep cool! The Dragon Boat Races at Sloans Lake brought people from all over Metro Denver to enjoy different cultures. There were vendors from Thailand, Korea, Vietnam, Cambodia and China in attendance.
Every 20-30 minutes there would be another team that jumped into the boats flexing their rowing muscles to race around Sloans Lake.
Some teams used a drum to keep the oars going at the same time, same direction to help get the boats across the lake the fastest!
The Asian-inspired treats from all these various countries were also available to the public. The wonderful scents of all the food cooking in the park made families want to try foods they had never tried before.
There were vendors selling jewelry and various items from each country. I think the most popular today was the parasol - to keep everyone from baking. It was over 90 degrees and HOT!
With the back drop of our glorious mountains, it made for a wonderful day at the lake to be bike riding and enjoying our great outdoors!
If you know families that would love to enjoy Denver at its finest, please contact me for more information.
