Laramie, Wyoming. We have some culture, really - we do!  The challenge of this  just for fun series . . .

Can You Find It ?!

If you haven't been to - or live in - Laramie, Wyoming,  it won't be easy to do the  "Can You Find It?"  part of this challenge.  However,  I  hope  that  far  away  visitors  can  still  enjoy  the  pictures!

Cowboy Bronze

Now this is  a classic  western sculpture!  Whoever D. Michael Thomas is, he did a great job - it's even got a little fun in it!

(This series was inspired by Sculpture, A Wyoming Invitational.  www.uwartmuseum.blogspot.com )

Rebecca, Thanks for taking the time to look at all of them - very nice of you!  Isn't it funny how different works speak to different people?!

Hi John - You should visit in real life sometime, too!  In the summer though, as it is much colder than Phoenix  . . . . . . .  : )

Cowboys in Laramie?  LOL.  I also noticed the rock work construction of the building behind the sculpture.  Very nice.

Hi Wanda, I was hoping somebody would notice the very cool old home ( now an Alumni Center) behind the cowboy!

Hi Brenda - Great picture.  I went to the artists website and was looking at his work.  This guy is really good.  Then I came across one of his works that really made me laugh.  People in the office came over to see what got to me and they laughed also.  Why would anyone spend $500 for a bronze of mans best friend leaving a present somewhere?  However, I am sure they do.  I like this guys sense of humor.  Thanks for the blog and the laugh.

p.s. When I get $500 extra dollars...

Actually I noticed the building first-love the roof and the stonework.  The sculpture is nice too but love love stone homes.

Oh my gosh, Steve, now I'm going to have to head over there, too!  I knew I saw a little "fun" in his style but I had no idea. . .   We have neighbors who carved a wooden sign in the shape of the dog you speak of and they put a big circle with a bar through it.  Surprisingly it "eliminated"  the early morning deposits they were receiving in their corner yard!

Hi Virginia, Thanks for coming back!

Hi Debra - I think that home used to belong to a private homeowner - I'll bet it's pretty amazing on the inside!

Hi again Brenda - Always wondered how the dogs could read those signs to stay out of the yard.  Oh wait, maybe the symbolism is meant for the dog owners who can not read.
