Pay It Forward ~ Ronald McDonald House
It's been de-cluttering, re-arranging and out with the old and in with the new around our house! I guess we are taking to heart some of our own advice in getting our listings ready for market (trust me we are not thinking of selling).
The hard freezes from this past unusally cold winter struck much of our landscaping and even the exterior is undergoing a makeover! The question becomes what do we do with items we no longer want? Sure kids may have first dibs but there are still things to donate. A friend of Geno's suggested Ronald McDonald's house. What a great idea!! I would have never thought about them needing furniture...this week they have a new coffee table!
Good morning Anita,
Sometimes we forget there are so many worthwhile charities out there!
Hi Dorie.
Being involved and help the needy is a great thing...
Tomorrow there is s walk for kids with cancer...
We will attend and donate.
A lovely pay it forward. I would have never thouht of that either! Go Geno!
Good afternoon Barbara,
You are right..there are so many families in need for some many reasons.
Hi Kristine,
An excellent way to put it..Spring Cleaning! There are many worth while charities and Ronald McDonald house is an excellent choice!!
Hi Tish,
Its that time of year to take stock of what what all one has accumulated and clean out!! Just want to make sure that the charities out there get things as they do need many items for all the people they serve.
Hi Debe,
You can make a difference..if everyone gave just one thing it's amazing how much good it can do!
Hi Judy,
There are lots of organizations out there serving so many groups..it's good to keep a list so you remeber to help them out.
Hi Joni,
There are so many organizations out there in need. Many people have their favorites that are dear to their hearts. Sometimes just asking a friend who they like to support can give you a new idea!
Dorie~That is a great place to donate to, I would not have thought of that!
We don't have a Ronald McDonald House in this area... or do we? Something for me to investigate! Or a Fisher House. But yes, donating used home furnishings can be very rewarding - and make someone's day.
Dorie, Ronald McDonald house was a great thought for your excess furniture! Great job!
Good morning Melissa,
I tend to forget they need things just like other charities!
Good morning Margaret,
I think we forget sometimes all the charities that need things we no longer need. There are so many!!
Good morning Joan,
I know they can use lots of things. Have a great week-end Joan!
Good morning Dorie, the Ronald McDonald House is great idea! It feels good to get rid of those things that we don't need and know that the're going to a good cause too. Happy Sunday Dorie!
Good morning Mary,
Hope you had a great week-end! Ronald McDonald house is a great cause and I'm glad we were able to make a donation to them.
Dorie, that's a great idea. I am so glad you came along when you did. I've got a working old tv console, a newer, bigger, heavier tv that isn't working and I've got a vaccuum cleaner we got suckered into (I forget the name of it) when we helped our friend's boy who was selling them. I've got an exercise bike, a couple pair of living room chairs and so much more. Is it true that Ronald McDonald's house can, indeed, use them all????? I love it. Thanks for the new information and the new source for donating anc charity work. ;)
