Palm Beach County Realtors... Why not use Home Staging to help your Buyers make a choice!

Realtors... I know you've had this happen to you... you've been showing a Buyer houses for days ... or weeks and sign postthey just can't make up their minds.  It's not that they haven't liked what you've shown them... they just can't decide.

I received a call from one of my favorite Realtors this year..... they'd been working with an out-of-town buyer and they were ready to put an offer in on a house.

The Buyer was leaving town that day and she was ready to sign the papers .... but she was freaking out over where to put the furniture.

My favorite/ savvy Realtor contacted Room Service! Home Staging and we were able to meet the Buyer and Realtor at the property to ease their minds.

Here's what I did-

*I listened to her and learned how she wanted to use the space

*I gave her a plan to show her the possibilities of the rooms using her furniture

     * When asked I offered her suggestions for easy and inexpensive updates

     * I remained totally neutral when asked my opinion as to whether or not she should buy the property. (Not going to open that can of worms, nor is it my place to do so).

Home Staging is not there just for Seller... We're here to help Buyers as well!

What a wonderful and imaginative post.  Honestly not something I would have considered, but I love the innovation of the idea.  Good post, Kathy!

Kathy--that is one brilliant Realtor to call you in to offer your assistance to the client.  It's amazing how "useful" home stagers/designers can be at every step of this process, isn't it?

Good morning, Kathy.....another great post and suggested....we always think about staging for sellers to market a home properly.....but the buying end is just as important....that's great.

That does happen a lot, Kathy. And, what a great idea to have a home stager (Kathy Streib if she lived closer) take a look.

Great idea Kathy, something we all do to a limited extent when the buyers are imagining where their furniture will go in the home.

Kathy - as you point out, this is where professional stagers are invaluable - helping client see just how they can arrange their furniture to bring out the best in the room and add flow and continuity!

Kathy....so a GREAT point!!  I do have a couple of very savvy agents who recommend me to their BUYERS to help them with furniture placement, paint colors etc AFTER the sale!!  Stagers can help on both the selling and buying end of the transaction!!  GREAT post!!!!!!!

What a great idea to leverage your skills and talent, Kathy!  Thanks for passing this suggestion along.  This is a very inexpensive tool for REAs to use to close a sale.

Brava Kathy!   I just had a call from a Realtor who's listing won't sell because the buyers can't figure out a new furniture arrangement.  A quick look online and the problem was solved with no charge to the Realtor, but hopefully a future referral!  What goes around comes around <G>!

Dorie- kudos to my Realtor!  So many Buyers will have the jitters, buyer's remorse, you name it!  We're not there to push them into a decision but can answer questions.

Mimi- I still believe Staging can be just as useful for the Buyer as for the Seller.  Many Buyers will bring in an architect before they purchase a home to see what can be done; we can provide a similar service.

Roy- and I hope you have a beautiful weekend as well.  Love the colorful flowers.

Janet- absolutely.  And, if you stage a house for a seller, you can assist them as well with their new home.

Barbara- thanks for the suggest.   Think about the buyers you've had in the past that just couldn't make up their minds!  And, a consultation can prevent them from going out and purchasing furniture that won't fit or work in their new home.

Toni- the client didn't think it would take long but as we walked through the house... she had more questions.  I was there over 2 hours.

Gabe- I know that when I've looked at a home, I'm wondering where my television will go... my desk... etc .

Kristine- it certainly can make the transition easier for the buyer.

Kathy- good for you and for your Realtors.  I forgot to mention paint colors because isn't that one of the first things a buyer wants to do in their new home!

Julia- yes.. offer special packages for Buyers Agents to give to their clients!

Sharon- just expanding it all for us!

Tom- that's the attitude because I bet you hear from the Realtor soon!
