Good News..

Winds From Irene to be 85 MPH Not 100!                                              

Just secured my porch furniture and removed the hanging bird feeders  when I heard the Good News..Winds From Irene Expected to be 85 Miles Per Hour Not a hundred!

Our governor is calling it a 'monster storm".

I am ready for more good news!

''The waiting game. As Hurricane Irene swirls our way, the East Coast prepares for a hard hit of heavy rain and whipping wind. Fortunately, Irene weakened slightly on Saturday and the winds are expected to be 85 miles an hour and not the 100 mile an hour winds....''

Margaret you and all the other easterners have been on my mind.....I sure hope it does continue to slow down and not be as devasting as media and forecasters have predicted.  I know you'll stay safe......I hope others do as well. When I was watching CNN there were still kids out surfing - what is up with that?

Hi Margaret, And I sure hope you all get good news but I am not sure with the size of this storm, that even that is any guarantee that it won't re-strengthen and cause continual upset in all the coast areas north of North Carolina. It is one of the biggest storms  ( while not as powerful) but the size alone dictates that anything can happen, especially if it picks up power. Be safe my friend!!

Sally, We now have a beautiful bright sunny day, blue skies, a bit of wind...but no rain.

Lost power at 5:30 AM. Our generator did not work. Contractor arrived after 1:00 and we now have most everything working on back up power.

Think I might make a list of all the things that I need for a routine morning using electricity.
