You see to an adult, ice cream is part of life to pass through. To a kid, it is life and there is nothing else. As a kid eats ice cream, they enter into a world of their own full of sights and sounds muffled only by the thought of making sure nothing drips and gets away while you are eating. Whether on a cone, a stick or in a cup...this stuff makes memories
THE SECRET TO LIFE...ICE CREAM?
I read where they interviewed a 97 year old woman who was in good health and asked her what she would have done differently looking back. Without missing a beat, she said EAT MORE ICE CREAM. That did it for me. I went out and followed that woman's advice regarding her as a saint...
YOUR INTELLECT AND ICE CREAM DON'T GO TOGETHER
Adults eat ice cream with considerations because they know too much now. They think of cholesterol, making a mess, napkins, gaining weight, fat, allergies and the guilt that will follow for those that don't exercise it off. You see, they spoil the experience while having it.
CHOCOLATE OR VANILLA...IT REALLY DOESN'T MATTER
But kids don't have all that baggage. They know getting the ice cream is all they have to know. Then, at some point through the experience, they may experience a slight fear that passes quickly. It comes from realizing that your ice cream is almost gone, but you get over it and come right back to the finish
KIDS DO CRAZY THINGS SEZ WHO?
As a kid, I have put lots of gum in my mouth to see how much I could hold. As an adult, you would be told you would choke. I would also swallow it when I finished believing it to be a fine meal and no second thoughts. My grandmother ruined that by telling me not to do that and how it would now stick to my ribs. I went through life thinking I had gum..lots of it, stuck to my ribs for years and years.
KIDS CAN PLAY TO MAKE THEIR DAY
Kids can play and play without getting tired or eating, but adults will tell them they are tired and hungry and to come in now. I was not tired or hungry and all I wanted to do is play, play play..Do you remember begging to stay out just a little more? It was agonizing to be told NO
EVERYONE LOVES A BALL
Playing with a ball when you are a kid is something that comes natural. Bouncing it, throwing it and catching it is exhilarating. Not being able to do that is disappointing. Everyone wants to learn that and keep doing it too.
I had a BUTTERFINGER candy bar the other day that was absolutely....well, that is another post
