When I was growing up in Springfield the annual Springfield Day celebrations meant a parade, carnival and fireworks on the 4th of July. As the community grew the Springfield Days events changed as well. Today today the event is spread out among different locations in the community but the focus is still about bringing together residents of the community to enjoy a variety of activities sponsored by local organizations.
This year Springfield Days runs from Thursday May 31st through Saturday. June 2, 2102.
Here is a sampling of the events for this years festivities.
Family Fest
Springfield Mall with amusement rides and food.

Park Fest
South Run Recreation Center
11 AM Bring your favorite pet for Paws on Parade and enjoy watching agility and flyball demonstrations
12:30 Kids Olympics
2-4 Zumba-Thon
Outdoor Fest
4-8 PM Wagon rides, nature walks, farm animals, raptors and snakes. Learn more about our local natural world.
