It bears repeating that in today's tech world, aside from it being all fun and games we should look at the root of the concept from a practical point of view. I am speaking about answering your phone, text or email in an efficient and effective manner. That is why all this exists. Today's generation makes more use out of it, but strip it bare and its really a contact tool
ITS BEEN EXPERIMENTED ON
One thing late night TV pitch people learned that no matter how clever their commercial was, if they could not make contact instantly, they would lose opportunity. You see years ago, you would get a busy signal and that was a very anti-climatic end to a sales inquiry. Some people never called back. Mission NOT accomplished
YOU PAY FOR THE CALL
Toll free numbers were found to increase sales. Prior to that, people would call if they needed something, but quickly succumb to the ticking expense of the phone bill. Again polls plus trial and error proved that toll free which is reversing the charge more than paid for itself.
YOUR NOT THE ONLY GAME IN TOWN
If not getting through doesn't bug you, how about being put on hold? WHOA Is there anyone who doesn't just hate being held captive and having no choice but to bear it? One the one who is selling or offering a service is the only game in town, then you put up with it. Today, there are many games in town making the consumer more in charge
HELLO? HELLO HELLOOO...click
I want to speak to someone is how this should work. I need you and you need me. Not a recording, not music while on hold and certainly not someone in India for a product I bought in Los Angles Ca or Brooklyn New York
BELLS & WHISTLES RO RUBBER MEETS THE ROAD
You can have a fancy web site, a great sounding tag-line, a handsome picture or icon, a cute recording, an easy to use email address or phone number BUT, if you don't respond to the inquiry in today's I WANT IT NOW society, then it may be costing you money in lost opportunities
Not being reachable or responding in a casual comfortable manner gives questionable results
