It is a very scary time right now in Colorado. There are around 10 very active fires burning in our state and another 6 still smoldering, countless homes have been lost, and many more displaced until it is safe to return to their homes. Temperatures were over 100 degrees 5 days in a row, and not a drop of rain in sight.
The first of May this is what Garden of the Gods outside Colorado Springs looked like, but quite possibly will look much different soon.
Here are the some of the luxury homes just outside Garden of the Gods, which am sure are already evacuated and hopefully not burned to the ground.
This is the photo from last night's news, and the fire is still raging. At least 32,000 (in this area) have been evacuated and many homes have burned to the ground. This fire was allegedly started by someone on purpose, and actively seeking to find this person.
It is the only subject in the news, and is very scary!
The Red Cross is supplying food and shelter for those displaced and if you would like to donate to help - here is the web site and the phone number for the Colorado Chapter Red Cross is 303-722-7474. You can also donate to the Goodwill.
Sure wish some of the torrential rains from Florida could be used up here!
