What I Learned This Week in Active Rain-March 24-March 30, 2013

I Learn Something New at ActiveRain Every Day and It's Time I Showed You.  March 24  to March  30, 2013.

I learn something new every day at ActiveRain!  With this series I try to highlight one post per day that gave me that “lightbulb” moment.  It could be something techie, about Real Estate, about a place or person!

Eric MichaelMarch 24: Eric Michael    “Cash Only” Doesn’t Always Mean “Only Cash”

It never occurred to me that “Cash Only” didn’t mean exactly that necessarily.   I wonder how many Buyers think the same thing?  Read on and make sure you're not losing a sale.

Tony and Darcy CannonMarch 25:  Tony & Darcy Cannon    The Code of the West....Treat Everyone the Same.

What child hasn’t been taught this but I encourage you to go ot Tony and Darcy’s post and read their Code of the West Series.   Tony encourages us that this is especially true when working with clients and others in our business life.  Doesn’t matter who you are, how much you have or where you’re from...you’ll be treated the same.

Charles Buell March 26:   Charles Buell      The Ooh and Aarrgghh Moments of a Seattle Home Inspector

I want one!!!!    And if you’re considering any remodeling or updates and you want to add a “Wow” feature  to your powder room, then please go to Charles’ post.

Lee AlleyMarch 27:  Lee Alley    Digital Staging  Quick Tips for Taking Killer Glamor Shots of Listings.

I have to admit that a lot of what’s included in Lee’s post went right over my head... you can hear the swoosh!  But, Lee provides some excellent tips for taking better photos of our listings/stagings.  The first tip about the artificial lighting is one even i could do.

Dick GreenbergMarch 28:  Dick Greenberg      The Grab Bag-March 2013

I love reading Dick Greenberg’s Grab Bag posts.   I learned so many things in his post, you'll just have to find out for yourself.  My opinion, but part of what makes me want to subscribe to a blogger is that they’re never boring and offer a variety of posts.  I suggest you hit the “subscribe” button when you go to Dick’s blog.

Gabe Sanders March 29:  Gabe Sanders   Q&A Should I Self Insure for Flood Insurance in Martin County?

Flood insurance isn’t just for those of us in coastal areas.  And, not everyone is required to carry flood insurance but you might want to read Gabe’s post especially if you do not have insurance now but might be planning on selling your house.

Kim Gaston Kim Gaston     What’s the best Paint for Kitchen and Bathroom Cabinets?

When Stagers and Agents talk about easy updates, the kitchen and bathroom cabinets often are on the list.   Kim has done the research and legwork to tell us what paint to use.  Now I know and can offer this information to my clients.

Silvia Dukes March 30:  Silvia Dukes       What to Talk About When You Talk to People.

Not everyone has the gift for gab or even cares to but if you’re in any kind of profession involving people then you need to be able to talk to them... perfect strangers with whom you may spend several hours in a car.    Silvia provides us with 4 letters to help us out.

Thank you for letting me do what I love to do each day... learn something new!

I didn't know about Eric's so that is useful info

Tony and Darcy's was like the GOLDEN RULE

Charles OOH was definitely cool.

Lee's was quite in depth and a bit out of my experience realm

Dick's was quite humorous

Gabe's was good to know for the area

Kim's was really good to know.

Silvia's F.O.R.D. was a good one. I remember hearing that before

Thank you for the great line up for the lightbulb moments. Hope your Easter was a great one
