Kentlands Citizens Assembly needs code compliance volunteer
If you are seeking a volunteer opportunity in the Kentlands community, there is an opening that you may wish to consider.
The attractive appearance of homes in Kentlands is one of the features that attract relocation families to the area. The Board of Code Compliance is the group of home owners that work to maintain the high community standards that make us proud of our neighborhoods. Carefully read the following request from the Kentlands Citizens Assembly and offer your services if you have the skills to fill this opening.
This is the notice from the Kentlands Citizens Assembly:
Volunteer Needed for the Board of Code Compliance
Members of the the Board of Code Compliance (BoCC) review potential code issues defined by the Kentlands Design Standards. The Board of Code Compliance investigates these potential issues and makes reasonable attempts to informally resolve cases involving alleged violations of Community Codes.
The BoCC meets at the Clubhouse on the 2nd Thursday of each month at 6:30 PM to review current issues and determine solutions. Tasks include assessing code issues and actions and tracking them to closure. Hearings may be conducted with property owners to review and encourage remedial actions and establish target dates. In some cases, the BoCC may render Judgments on violations of Community Codes. Judgments may include the determination of appropriate and reasonable punitive measures such as assessing fines or temporarily suspending rights to the use of common property.
We are currently seeking volunteers from members of the Kentlands Community to assist in helping maintain the standards of the Kentlands in a community team spirit.
If you are interested in serving on the Board of Code Compliance, please send a note of interest to Arthur Gailes at agailes@cmc-management.com.
