Breaking News Tom Clancy: dead at the age of 66

Endre: Yes life is short and we are spiritual beings moving around in a body so that we can grow through this experience called life. Tom Clancy was a great writer and his spiritual role was to make us think. I am 68 and now give it thought everyday and pray that God will allow me to grow as a better person. Growth happens in all dimensions.

So many people enjoyed his books, and the films made from them...pleasure is what he gifted the world with.

Endre - This is sudden and very sad news.  At the age of 66, oh so young, with so much more to give.  Make each moment count, get your home in order, and be sure to tell your loved ones, those that matter in your life, how much you appreciate them!  You never know when there will not be a second chance!

Every day a gift and every minute is a minute closer to the end. Carpe Diem... We should all pay more attention to "time is of the essence" in the things we like to do.

Endre- I heard the news this morning and, yes it is sad news.  I've always loved his books and don't know if I could pick my favorite, but it is probably the Hunt for Red October. 

My Donald is going to be really sad to hear this and I'm not sure he did before he went to be.  Has to be up really early.  I have read a couple of his books because sometimes when I loose my husband to a book for a few days I have to see what was so good about that book.

Endre, Tom cost me many hours of sleep, but it was well worth it!  He's the only author of current fame that I would buy the books of as soon as I could lay hands on them and read them as quick as I could.  I'll miss the Jack Ryan series of books and those about John Clark and Jack Jr.

Oh, no, I love his books. That's pretty young to leave us.

Clancy will be missed. He wrote several best sellers. They still haven't released cause, have they?

Endre-Yes, he was a very good writer. I enjoyed the series of non-fiction books where he was embedded with service personnel to get a better understanding of thier training and mission. I remember one book on submarines, and another on airborne forces. He'll be missed.

incredible writer, who almost seemed wired into the intelligence and defense networks in the US.  definitely a loss for the publishing world.  that said, your more general observations are well taken -- we need to appreciate and celebrate each day!
