Go Ahead!  Drone On About Your New Listing!

Some of you may know that I do a bit of video marketing.  I rely on Doug Canning, here in San Rafael, to shoot and edit the video and while we were working on my last production, he mentioned that he'd purchased an aerial drone to which he can mount a camera.  And as a result he now offers the dramatic real estate video shoots that are becoming increasingly popular with local agents.  In marketing properties, especially in the luxury markets prevalent here in Marin, aerial drone footage can make for a very compelling presentation.

So I'll ask you.  Are you thinking about droning on about your newest or upcoming listing?  Do you see value in this type of marketing?

If you are a real estate professional in Marin, San Francisco or the East Bay, Doug may be able to help you with your video shoots.  You can reach him at 415-215-5369 or by e-mail at douglascanning@gmail.com.  A more helpful and accommodating individual you will not find.

Rob, there are some markets where this concept would make sense, such as waterfront properties or homes high in the hillside....I also think depending on the price point and location within the country where it will make more sense....as far as I am concerned I am not a big fan but what do I know, Endre

Endre --- what we haven't seen yet is neighbors taking skeet practice out on these, but hopefully that's a way off.

That is really wild, I just wonder if something like this was flying around my home that I wouldn't shoot it out of the sky.

Thank you for commenting on my post.

We saw this technology being used at a training today. It is really awesome.

Thanks for all the great comments.  Tammie --- it is remarkable how smooth the footage is from the drone and, once edited properly, does make for a dramatic video presentation.  I sense that here in Marin, CA, most of the waterfront and estate properties will soon see this as a requisite piece of marketing material.

It's soon going to be a part of any property video. Sure, if the property has views or a large lot it's useful, but, why not show an aerial view of the street & neighborhood? I'm already on my second areial drone because the tech has advanced so much that many are very EZ to use.

Rob, while I think drone photography is cool, I see some privacy issues. Let's just peek over the neighbors fence and see what they are BBQ-ing today, shall we?

Rob, I especially like the drone aerial video footage that was taken over the edge of the water.  That has such a neat feeling!
