Evening Thunderstorms make for Magnificent Morning Clouds

By

Evening thunderstorms make for magnificent morning clouds.  Last night in Denver we had lots of thunderstorms combined with dime sized hail.  I enjoyed sleeping to the sound of the rain but was anxious to see what the morning would bring.

Leaving the house around seven thirty, I headed west towards Lookout Mountain.  The cloud cover was amazing as it moved across the skies.  At one pint, Denver was completely hidden from view as if buried under a heavy white blanket.

heavy clouds hide Denver

As I travelled back towards Golden, the clouds took on a totally different look.

We expect more rain again this evening.....another photo opportunity.

Stunning--love the first photo.  It reminds me of a flight back from Africa when we flew through some gorgeous cloud formations with lightning in the background.

Norma - wish there had been lightning!  It was so white and misty, I thought it looked even better as a black and white image.

Tony and Darcy....the views in every direction were dramatic. :)

The word stunning doesn't do these photos justice. The use of black and white really move me!

Hi Norma,

Terrific storm photos and I love to be in the middle of a big thunder storm. I usually open the windows and smell the rain. I am rather sad when the weatherman is wrong sometimes and the storm moves out without any rain. California needs as much rain as possible. Thanks for sharing.
