Things to do in Alameda:  The Alameda’s Farmer’s Market is open to the public Saturday, January 31 and Tuesday, February 3  mornings from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, rain or shine.  All the fruits and vegetables are available at great prices.  So good!  Don’t miss the opportunity to shop for delectable fruits, vegetables and flowers.  The market is on Webster Street and Haight Avenue and is open rain or shine.   

Things to do in Alameda:  Alameda South Shore Center and Off the Grid food trucks on January 23, from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm in the South Shore Center parking lot near Petco.  The trucks include Sensor Sisig, Little Green Cyclo, Seoul on Wheels, Whip Out! Rocko's Chocolate Tacos, Cluck it Up, Lobsta Truck, Licensed 2 Grill and Out of the Cave.

Things to do in Alameda:  Saturday, January 31 from 2 to 3:30 pm join Alameda Backyard Growers and Ploughshares Nursery and Pollinate Farm and Garden for a free workshop on Hands-on-Seed Startling at the Alameda Library at 1550 Oak Street in Alameda.  Please call 510-747-7713 for more information.

Things to do in Alameda:  Crab Cove for Family Nature Fun and learn about “Low Tide Exploration”.  Bring your mud boots  for tromping around in the mud.  Afterwards, finds out what’s new at the cove with on Saturday, January 31, at 2:00 pm.  Please call 510-544-3187 for more information.

Things to do in Alameda:  Island City Opera at C’era Una Volta Saturday, January 31 at 7:00 pm for the premier presentation of Saturday’s Cabaret at 1332 Park Street in Alameda.  The Island City Opera company will performs favorites.  Please call for reservation at 510-769-4828.

Things to do in Alameda:  Alameda Kiwanis Club’s 16th annual Chili Cookoff fundraiser on Saturday, January 31 at 5:30 to 10:00 pm.  The event will include a silent auction, dinner, dancing and no-host cocktails.  Best of all will be the chili tasting.  Tickets for adults are $60 for adults and $15 for youths 5 to 12 years.  The chili cookoff will be at the Al DeWitt O Club, 641 West Red Line Avenue at Alameda Point.

Things to do in Alameda:  Alameda Point Antiques Faire on Sunday, February 1 from 6:00 am to 3:00 pm.  You’ll have great time people watching, buying cools things, and enjoying great food. Entry fee is $10 before 7:30 am, $5 after 9:00 am. If you haven’t been to the Alameda Point Antiques Faire you are missing a great event.  Located at the end of Main Street at Alameda Point.

Coming events in Alameda:

Saturday, February 7 at 7:00 pm, PEERS’ will present a grand costume ball inspired by A Game of Thrones and A Song of Ice and Fire at the Alameda Elks Lodge at 2255 Santa Clara Avenue.  There will be dance lessons prior to the ball followed by vintage ballroom dance music, no-host bar, light snack buffet.  Historical attire or fancy costume are admired but not required.  Tickets can be purchased in advance for $20 or at the door for $25.  Please call 510-522-1731.
