Look In The Bathroom, You Can't Miss It!

One of the things that I enjoy about being a contractor who works in apartment communities is that there is always new things that pop up. It is not uncommon for a manager to ask me if I have time to look at something else while I am on site. I always say yes, if I can.

While installing a new entry door to one unit, the staff seemed a little desperate to have me look at a problem with the drywall in an occupied unit. While the description of what is wrong often doesn't match reality, I ask what it is that I am going to be looking at while inside the unit. The answer that I got this time was, “You can't miss this one”.

That's always a mysterious reply but sure enough, as I walked into the bathroom, I could not miss the problem. I recognized the problem, took a quick peek, and hope to get this estmate for repairs in Sacramento and job completed soon.

I also see what appears to be mold... so the problem must have been there awhile! Great that you got to chalk up another work order while you were there.

Uh oh, that doesn't look so good.  Was it caused by a leak from above that has hopefully already been fixed?

Wow. It's been my experience that tenants always scream bloody murder when something is wrong in their unit. Why did that tenant not say anything? That had been going on for awile.
