Day 3, thankful for......foggy SF days

By

San Francisco has many micro climates, and Pacific Heights is one usually free from the swirling fog that often shrouds the Golden Gate bridge and envelopes the streets  in the more western parts of the City.

fog in Pacific Heights, San Francisco

Not so a few mornings ago when I walked along Jackson Street.  It was still heavy an hour later on my way back. The fog didn't stop the wild parrots from squawking and flitting about, nor the walkers, joggers, and dogs from frolicking.

Just one more thing for which to be thankful - the mysterious fog that gives familiar sights a new appearance.

Actually, Paul S. Henderson, REALTOR®, Broker, Tacoma Washington - this foggy morning in Pac Heights was quite warm--no wind at all -- just eerie quiet. Fun!

Lottie Kendall - I'm with you, I think fog is very magical, and I love watching it roll in from a hotel room!  The fog in San Francisco is a feature that makes it very special!

Hi Lottie! I went to Monterey on Sunday and was all ready to see the Supermoon but the fog got the best of me, until Monday morning  when I woke up at 5:30 a.m. and went to the highest peak around (Jack's Peak), it was closed! But...on our way down the other side of the hill, we turned the corner and there it was, in all it's glory! Super Cool, yes, this fog won't get me down:)

I love to see fog but I hate to drive in it. We used to see a lot more tule fog in Sacramento than lately. I wonder why.

Weather in San Francisco can change in a moment . . . . but I  like the city and the changing weather.

Good luck and success.

San Francisco is such a beautiful place to call home. I have visited there several times and can't wait to get back. I do love the fog, too.

Hi Elisa Uribe Realtor #01427070 - what a wonderful thing for you to do! And quite the adventure, too.

Sussie Sutton - some western parts of San Francisco can be foggy for a month or more straight -- that would be tough. In my part of town, the fog is delightful, always making the scenary interesting. It's our natural A/C!

Tule fog is the worst, Elizabeth Weintraub Sacramento Real Estate Agent, Top 1% of Lyon Agents - we used to contend with it on our way to the Sierras for skiing - very scary driving. Interesting that the pattern is changing.

Hi Robert Bob Gilbert - when the fog gets down to street level in my part of town, it's quite a treat (if you're not driving!) --- I always want to pull up a collar of a trench coat and search for the Maltese Falcon, cigarette dangling from my lip, a la Dashiell Hammet

Hi Lottie! How wonderful that we all have different likes and preferences for weather. I love San Francisco yet my preference is to live where I see sunshine most mornings. Makes me smile.

Sunshine is delightful, Janice Hope Zaltman LEED AP but when a rare day comes, and the fog clings to the streets and to our eyelashes as we walk through familiar neighborhoods which look completely different - that's fun, too!
