Bird, Lime, Lyft, Jump and the list is growing day by day. It was not that long ago that I wrote a post about "Bird" & "Lime" and how the local governments need to regulate them.
Some of you who read my posts consistently know how dismayed I have been with the various “toys” that have been introduced in my market. These “toys” are not just a convenience, rather they are a nuisance at the same time.
First, they are affecting, taxi cabs, Lyft drivers, Uber Drivers, Limo Drivers and the list goes on and on. In all fairness that is a “disruption” some people can live with. What many casual observers might miss out is the “littering” that is taking place all over the West Side of Los Angeles.
The politicians are talking, but not acting on this nuisance. I see many of these “toys” laying on the ground, blocking handicapped access and the list goes on and on. I have heard of serious injuries to pedestrians by the irresponsible Bird & Lime drivers to name a few.
Which brings me to my point the other day I was driving in Santa Monica, CA which is already littered with these “toys” and I notice this new addition “Jump” a bicycle, which is adding to the littering. Then as I was driving around I noticed that they also have taken on Bird & Lime… seriously what will it take to regulate this Companies?
There are other activities I have noticed, that maybe the Police should take a note of, but I will save that for another post. What are your thoughts about this nuisance?
My take is as much as I am not a fan of government regulations. In this instance it is easy for me to say that Government Regulations are not only needed but required. At the same time people need to be more civilized and be caring about their environment and their fellow mankind. Just to be clear I do not consider this progress, when you see in front of Restaurants, Condominium Complexes and Apartment Buildings littered with all these new “technologies” I am saddened.
I am all for progress and things that benefic mankind but in this instance, I do not believe this is good on so many levels.
