I always loved Erma. Yes, I think her quote is quite accurate. Sometimes tears are saddness and sometimes happiness....sometimes a combo.

Hindsight is 20/20 they say and often times things are clearer after the fact. Love that photo.

Profound pondering. We were on several pretty taxing hikes recently while in Alaska - muscles  burned as we climbed up and up and up. At times, it was easy to imagine turning around, but once the views popped into sight - it became so clear. It's worth the discomfort to experience special moments. 

LOVE the photo and Erma Bombeck too! I totally prefer to stay on the laughter, comedy, humor side of the isle, Michael.

In fact, I think the Creator blessed me with an extra funny bone - I have a tendency to laugh until I cry - that happens OFTEN!

Michael, the photo you selected looks like it was taken specifically for your post. Laughing has gotten me through some dark times. Although I like when the clouds start to move out and things become more clear I also have learned to embrace those dark times. They teach us about ourselves and make us stronger. 

Michae, this looks like a scene from West Virginia. What would we do without laughter :)

Michael I was like Kathy Streib  on many occasions, and laughing and crying at the same time and Diane is used to it now after so many  years.... I also find it is contagious laughing and crying:))Endre

You nailed this one!! The photo is perfect for your pondering and the Erma Bombeck post is priceless! She is one of my favorites and have a friend with the same sense of humor and comes up with some similar dialog. I tell her Erma must be her sister!! LOL!

That photograph reminds me that we need to take another drive along the Skyline Drive in Virginia.
